Mounted patrol from around the country will participate in the National Police Equestrian Competition at the stables at 440 South Street, Morris Township. Over 100 rider and horse teams have entered from Canada, Texas, Michigan and Virginia.

Passaic County Sheriff’s Department maintains a 6 member police horse unit at Garret Mountain Stables, under the direction of Captain Kevin Piscitelli.

Building obstacles for the obstacle course has been accomplished with the help of Passaic County Technical Institute students in Robert Vendetta’s carpenter shop students.

Local businesses have contributed items to the workshop and a local artist has painted props. The props include a simulated homeless shelter, a balancing tee ter totter and some push carts.
