The purpose of the project was to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge with a wider bridge with improved capacity for trucks and new approaches. The existing bridge was constructed in 1932 and reconstructed in 1952, 1965 and 1989.
OSBORNE TERRACE BRIDGE IN WAYNE IS COMPLETE
Osborne Terrace is a heavy traveled roadway and the bridge carries traffic over the Packanack Lake Overflow Spillway.
The average daily traffic in 1999 was 7,325 vehicles. The projected daily traffic in year 2019 is approximately 10,885.
The purpose of the project was to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge with a wider bridge with improved capacity for trucks and new approaches. The existing bridge was constructed in 1932 and reconstructed in 1952, 1965 and 1989.
The new bridge is constructed of concrete I- beam with a reinforced concrete deck and is 67 feet in length with a 32-foot wide roadway and a 6-foot sidewalk.
The cost of the bridge rehabilitation is $2,306,683 and is funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation bridge rehabilitation funds. Lichtenstein Consulting Engineers designed the project.
